Maranatha Missions Department
The purpose of the Maranatha Missions Department is to be the vehicle through which Maranatha Church responds to the great Commission of our Lord, Jesus Christ, as expressed in Matthew 28: 19-20; Mark 16:15; and John 20:21. We believe the Great Commission specifically means:
1. Proclamation of the Gospel where it is not known (I Corithians 15:1-4);
2. Discipleship of believers and formation of local churches where none now exist;
3. Ministry to the total needs of the people - whether physical, mental or spiritual-
as an expression of the love of God.
The Maranatha Mission Department partners with many mission ministries throughout the world to accomplish our purpose. Activities of these ministries include: evangelism, church planting, training pastors, bible study programs, operation of orphanges, providing medical care, nutritional programs, prison ministry, youth ministires, counseling and operations of a school in Nan Colo, Haiti.
Special Projects/Programs
During the 2009 school term, nearly 17,000 meals were served to students. The school lunch may be the only daily meal for many of the students. Bible study is an important part of the daily school curriculum.
