At Maranatha we believe that the most important aspect of a child’s life is his or her relationship with Christ. Our Children’s Ministry creates opportunities for children to know the Lord, learn to love Him, and be equipped to serve Him. Below are some of our programs. To get the Registration Form, click here.
Children’s Christian Education
Children’s Church
Instead of sitting through a sermon geared towards adults, 4 to 11 year olds are encouraged to attend Children’s Church. After participating in the music and worship part of the Sunday morning service, children assemble for focused activities together. Afterwards, they break-out into age specific groups for a time of child-centered, Bible-based learning in their classrooms. Lessons are memorable and fun! We also incorporate games, crafts, memory verses, and cooking into their Sunday morning experience. That facilitates relationship building, which is a big part of Children’s Church.
Sunday Morning Bible Study for Children
Sunday Morning Bible Study (Sunday school) is offered from 9:15-10:15 a.m. Children learn about Jesus and the great stories of the Bible. Our lively curriculum is designed to help kids grow in their faith and integrate Christian values into their daily lives.
Thursday Evening Activities
Activities are from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and include: biblically-based special topic study, community service projects, and social activities. The kids also support Maranatha’s basketball team.
Healthy snacks are served at all programs.
Classrooms are located in the Christian Education Department on the lower level.
At Maranatha, we are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our children. All of our volunteers go through an orientation process that includes a background check and child abuse prevention training.

Children’s Worship Arts
Rejoice Always is Maranatha’s children’s dance team. Young dancers learn about God’s purpose for dance in worship and the biblical meaning of dance patterns. They use tambourines, ribbons, and their God-given gifts during various Sunday services throughout the school year. The team also participates in the Miracle Children’s Choir concerts.
If your child would like to join the dance ministry, please contact Children’s Dance Director Merthene White at 503.288-7241.
The Miracle Children's Choir (ages 3-12) exists to win souls to the Kingdom of God and minister to Christian congregations. The kids regularly participate in fourth Sunday morning service at Maranatha. They also provide special music for other programs and worship services, including their own summer and Christmas concerts. Other activities include: home visits to elderly church members and an unforgettable annual party at Bull Winkles!
New members are most welcome! If your child would like to join the choir, please call 503.288-7241.
Junior Men of Valor
Maranatha’s Men’s Ministry sponsors the Junior Men of Valor program. It provides character building and life/social skills from a biblical perspective. The focus is on mentoring young males 8-12 years of age. Recent activities include a fishing trip, pool party, Harlem Globe Trotters Game, bowling, service opportunities and just hanging out to name a few. Our mission is to be a positive influence in developing responsible Christian young men.
